Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.

major fatigue

I have not had my infusion that was scheduled for two weeks ago. Is it in my head or is it from the lack of medicine that I have major fatigue. God I feel so guilty cuz I just can't move my lazy arse. I am soooooo tired. Is it psychological or biological? I can't even boil water to cook, I get so agitated over the least amount of effort I have to produce.

I can sooo relate. I am exhausted most of the time. If i'm not so tired that i don't want to do anything, my horrible joint pain prevents my from doing much. Try to keep positive thoughts and it may help to know there are others out there just like you.

What kind of treatment are you getting for your joint pain?

My immunologist is referring me to a rheumatologist. He doesn't deal with chronic pain. i can't take NSAIDS, tylenol does nothing . I have tried lidocaine patches and narcotic pain medication. I don't want to take the narcotics, but I haven't found anything else that works. Any suggestions?

No I don't know what to tell you other than the specialist will have many drugs that will fall under different catagories.

I use a Pain patch and that is a powerful narcotic and Motrin 800.
I need something to add to the motrin. The amount of pain meds are enough for the other pain. I don't know what to do for the arthritic pain either. I'll need talk to my doc.

I am wanting something that will specifically address the type of pain I am experiencing.

The narcotic and muscle relaxant I am using isn't a choice.
I would not be able to move due to a different condition.

I think the specialist you get will have more answers.

I have not tried the pain patches, only lidociane patches. I will ask about those. Thanks for the info. I also use the heating pad, that helps sometimes. it is very frustrating not even being able to pick up a pitcher to get a drink. How do you get through the basics by yourself? Hope today is a better day for you.

These pain patches are a powerful narcotic.
You may want to start with tablets.
This medication only comes in IV and patch form.

My pain is so intense that I do not get a (buzz) from the patch med.
It brings me closer to just feeling normal. Then I have tablets for severe break through pain.

Remember there are IV monthly meds for Arthritis and I've seen women get the treatmetns. So it must be working.
