Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.

^^^ This. Absolutely agreed.
Also -- if your doctor isn't reacting to these levels, in my opinion, they are not up-to-speed with minimal acceptable trough levels for CVID patients. I would, at this point, suggest a referral to a different immunologist for a "second opinion".
heh... "To be continued!"
Stuff inside angle brackets probably won't paste correctly.
Thanks
As my immunologist suggested today...I am shopping for a new primary care doctor to 'manage' all of my specialists {I currently have 8 or 9}. Dr B suggested an Internist rather than a Family practice doc because family practice docs are really generalized, and the Internists have more specialty experience. He agreed with my metaphor/analogy: like spreading peanut butter-too thin, you have the family practioner; nice and thick and evely spread, you have the internist.
Vortek-please forgive us American yanks-we tend to get envious of your healthcare system. We know, like ours, it has its faults...but down here in the US, we have so many who are without any healthcare at all, and die needlessly while our lovely politicians gripe over how 'socialist' universal healthcare is. Easy for them to do since their healthcare is FREE. Even our military are short-changed. I can say that from EXTENSIVE experience. Yet, I am grateful for the what the military insurance can provide me. So, please don't think our comments are thoughtless ;)
Also, another great resource can be the website for the brand of IG you get. Also, I highly recommend IG Living magazine-it covers all PIDD's as well as numerous autoimmune diseases, and is wonderfully detailed with info. In the back, they include a wonderful list of other resources-websites for support groups and info. I look forward to my next issues in themail like a model anxiously waits for her next Vogue issue!
