Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
It is already Thanksgiving here. It is very weird for us living here since no one celebrates Thanksgiving and Christmas is a minor holiday. I have invited American families in my part of town to join us for dinner. We should have 13 or so at the house tonight after the kids get home from school.
Unfortunately, there has been sad new for two of our friends in the last month. One went back to Australia because her 2 year old has developed leukemia and another friend from the UK just learned yesterday that her 7 year old daughter has an inoperable brain tumor. While we celebrate and give thanks, our hearts are heavy for these families.
So today I give thanks for the health of my children, and family. I also give thanks I was finally diagnosed at the age of 39 and Ig replacement is helping me to lead not just a normal life, but a life full of adventure.

I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving, that is so cool you would have a dinner for those families who are used to celebrating. I imagine it would be difficult to be in a different country with different cultures.

I am truly sorry for the news of your friends children. that is something I can't imagine and I too am thankful for the health of my family.
