Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group

Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.

I know a number of people of had some problems getting the infusions improved through some BC/BS groups. I just got off the phone with BC/BS of TN (they use express scripts for pharmacy) and my infusions are approved for another year!!!! I have been so worried about this. Now I have 11 months worry free!

That is awesome news and I am very excited for you!!! I am still in the waiting mode to get my new approval with United Healthcare and while I mostly try to move it out of my mind, it still nags at me. Knowing you are approved for another year and on BCBS (since there have been so many complaints about their approvals/denials) Is so exciting and comforting at the same time. Time for a celebration!

I am joining Cheryl in a Happy Dance. I went through ExpressScripts last year while on Federal PCIP, they are awesome and the same company as Accredo, you are in good hands.

Getting approved last week myself can definitely understand the "biting the nails" feeling during the process.

Whew..this is wonderful news! I am new here....and Canadian...and the struggles I read here regarding infusions, treatment etc. is so upsetting. Glad to here of a success! Let's here of more!
