Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
You may want to talk to your Immuno...for some dental procedures it may be necessary to take prophylactic antibiotics to help prevent infection.
Wishing you all the best :)
I have had a lot of dental work done in the last few years. I try to get it done just after my infusion. Each time I take a double dose of antibiotics 1 hour before my appointment. I have already had osteonecrosis of the jaw, due to prednisone. I still have a lot more dental work to have done.
I am curious if anyone with CVID has had implants done?
