Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.
Hey.
I am a furnace all day everyday! I can't ever get rid of the fevers, even when I'm having my better days. It's miserable. And the fevers get worse at night which I feel is probably because I work a lot harder to breathe. Anybody around me is miserable at temperatures that make me a bit more comfortable though, and I can't ask my roommate to be uncomfortable so I can feel better! Then, there's the exhaustion. I am a full time student, travel, and have many commitments. I have had to miss out on things more frequently than I would like, and it is difficult for my friends to understand. By the time I am ready to go in the morning, I've used my energy for the day. It is difficult to want to get up, make food, be productive, and I have always remained active for the sake of my health and haven't been tolerating exercise. I know the fatigue issue is very common, but what's your experience with the fevers and constant heat? I don't sleep well because of the fevers and struggle to breathe, so am wondering if that contributes to being so tired. Things have been going downhill for me. Just got off IVs and my lung functions are still at 20%. I have hit a point of fearfulness and concern because Im not myself and would appreciate any comments or suggestions if you've experiences this. Thanks!

You are young and accomplished. You sound like an amazing woman. Think of all of the time you have left to reach and set goals. Try to find a way to slow down a bit. You must learn to rest. I know that I did lots of damage by pushing too hard. As you ease off the accelerator a bit you will hopefully notice a difference in your overall sense of well being within a month or so. Give it a try, what have you got to lose....
(you might consider getting B-12 shots for a couple of months too)
