Common Variable Immunodeficiency Support Group
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a group of 20-30 primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) which have a common set of symptoms but with different underlying causes. CVID's underlying causes are different, but the result of these are that the body doesn't produce sufficient antibodies in response to exposure to pathogens.

As I understand it, Hizentra is a more concentrated form that takes less time for the infusion. I'm sure others here will have better details on that.
I learned mine in my docs office. Most people have a nurse come to their house a couple of times and she'll stay the whole time and usually can be reached even when you are on your own (something I don't have if i have an issue).
You can go to the Hizentra website on CSL Behring and there is a 12 minute video of a guy doing subq - its really a piece of cake! The video will help prepare you. Wear something comfy (sweats or jammie bottoms) as you don't know where you will be putting the needles - could be abdomen could be thighs. Prepare for half a day the first time - my best guess - it takes me about 3 hours from start to finish well maybe 2 but thats me flying through it :) Hydrate well the day before and after and prepare to feel fatigued after but other than that I have never had any bad effects from it! Good luck!
What's the difference between the 2 products??
Thanks
