Coming Out Support Group
This community is dedicated to the challenges that gay men and lesbian women face, both between the partners in a relationship and from other influences (family, society, etc.). Find support and talk to others who may be facing the same challenges, and share your experience.
Or maybe you maybe thinking if I dont come out now or soon I probably will stay closeted forever. I understand everyone has these thoughts and many can be scared to come out because of rejection and hatred. But sometimes you have to do things to make you feel better about yourself and to start living your real life.
So I think the first person to come out too is someone who you trust and believe will be open minded and accepting.
For example I first came out to my therapist who I felt I trusted and they helped me and talked to me so I could then come out to others. But if you dont have a therapist maybe a very close friend. I think a friend who is a girl because girls tend to be more open minded then guys but its up to you.
Maybe tell that friend can I tell you something personal and take them aside somewhere private so others dont just show up or listen in. Then say something like first of all this may shock you but this is who I'am I hope you understand and hope you still will be my friend. -------Pause a bit--------[ Just in case they say something then tell them ] Well I wanted to tell you that I'am Gay. Then hopefully their reaction is a good one.
Well its what I did when I came out to my first family member my cousin and my sister and it went well. But again its up to you what you want to say or do.
As for like you said you think your parent's they'll be accepting well that's a bit risky but if you feel you can tell them then you should do it. As for not being that close to them you have to face them sooner or later you have to take that risk.
But you do understand in coming out their is always risk's like there's a chance friendships can be lost. And it will spread and people might treat you badly. But make sure you have some sort of plan. If you are still in school check if there is a LGBT group you could join. Or check if there is a LGBT community center near or in your town or city you could visit they can help too.
But what ever you plan to do good luck and I hope this advice helps you and sorry for writing so much take care.
