What should I do? (suggestions before friday)

My mom and dad are not big supporters of GLBT.

My mom is the only person that I feel will give me a very rough time when I come out. I plan on giving her the news friday, so any suggestions before then would be greatly appreciated.

My dad will be disappointed, but I am not worried about him because he and I have a very tight bond. I thought maybe he could help get my mom to come around, but she and my dad don't ever see eye to eye (reason they divorced).

I have two places that I can go if my mom were to drive me absolutely nuts, since I do live with her. Wondering if I should first tell her I am a lesbian and then a couple weeks later tell her I am dating someone or just tell her all at once... Also not real sure how much detail I should go into with either of them.

I would take things a step at a time. It's good that you have places you go that you can feel at ease. I'd try telling your mother that you are just a lesbian at first. See how she takes it. Thats a big thing for any parent to accept and she may need time before you shove it all at her at once. It's also good you have your father and the bond you all share. I'm sure things will work out in the end. Good luck!!

Thank you for the advice. I told my mom that I am a lesbian and she isn't taking it well. For a while I thought I was gonna have to move in with my brother or friend, but they both live in an apartment and I wouldn't have been able to stay for more than a week at a time without them getting in trouble with their landlords or having to pay extra rent. Luckily after a few hours my mom cooled down and didn't want to talk about it anymore. I finally was able to lock myself in my room and get some sleep.
I noticed you live in TN. I do as well. Not a real good state to be GLBTQ... Moving to FL in January, the people there are so much more open minded. :) Good luck to you as well.
