Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
Early Aug will be one year since chemo ended for me. I did 10 tx all together and didn't do the last 2.
Had my 3-month check up today. Everything looks good, just waiting for CEA to come back from the lab. Getting my port taken out and getting a chest x-ray. Now I'm on 4 month visits.
Gained back all the weight I lost from last year's "chemo diet" plus 1 more lb! Yuck, I guess like most diets, you gain the weight back plus.
It's been an emotional roller coaster feeling a high that I have a 2nd chance at life and a low of anxiety because one never knows. I still think about cancer every single day.
I hope the second year and third and so on gets easier.

At the beginning of treatment it seemed like the end would never come..but it does
I did feel a boost after getting the port out. I think that thing was holding back my emotional healing. I hope you feel stronger every day.
