Colon Cancer Support Group

Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.

I'm out of hospital and in rehab in Switzerland, But at the moment struggling to make progress, have no real appetite and what I do eat I bring back up several hours later, fortunately I do seem to be digesting some of it so I'm not totally fading away, just deeply frustrating not to be able to make any real progress.

With such a big extensive surgery I'm sure it will take extra time to progress. Baby steps are better than none at all, the surgery was one step, the rest will come soon, Take Care

Like Lori says take baby steps hun, your an outgoing physical person so it probably seems more frustrating to you than others, Your body cant go through so much and bounce back quickly, take your time, listen to your body and let nature take its course and you will be fine, take care hun x

If you are digesting some of it, it sounds like you are making some progress. Must be SO frustrating. Try not to be discouraged and like jlcolt mentioned, every small step forward counts

Thought it was about time I should post an update ... well things gradually got better and towards the end of November that I would go skiing for the season again in the US .... and believe it or not I actually made it!!!

So less than 3 months after an 11.5 hour surgery I was skiing and a couple of weeks later I'm teaching at the adaptive ski school again!!

Essentially where we live in Switzerland is roughly 2 hours drive from the main ski areas so I would either have to spend 4 hours a day driving or rent a place at a resort, given the cost of living in Switzerland it's cheaper to come to the US to ski for the season, that and we have a lot of friends at this resort as we have been coming here for years.
