Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
My dad had colon cancer and has been in remission for about 3 years now. He had part of his colon removed and has been doing very well.
Recently my dad had some CT scans done. They found a 11mm tumor/nodule on his lung so it's very small - they can't even do a biopsy. It's not growing fast at all. It can easily be benign. He also has 2 spots on his lung which is most likely from his pneumonia he had in the past but they will be checking. He gets his PET Scan on Monday.
PLEASE pray for my family. My dad and mom have been thru so much the past 10 years from my mom being wheelchair bound to my mom going blind to my dad's cancer to foreclosure on our home.
Do you think it will be benign? Yes, it went from 9mm to 11mm within five months but benign can grow too. And my dad has gained weight not lost any weight.
Any possibility for a good outcome? I am seriously so worried about this. My dad's kidneys are very bad and chemo might not even be an opinion.
