Colon Cancer Support Group
Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.

You certainly had food poisoning...: ( Have to be careful now that your going through treatments your immune system will be more easily compromised. So happy to hear about your Faith and trust in the Lord. The day that the Holy Spirit entered my body I was aware of my cancer actually leaving my body.....I know the day and time......I will continue praying for you. ..Ron
I guess we do have many names that we have taken from your area, I am not sure who named them but I am sure we can blame it on the pilgrims..........lol.
I had my appointment on Thursday with the surgeon, I have to have some kind of water soluable test on the 6th of April and then the surgeon is going to look with a scope just to double check whether I have healed enough or properly for the reconnection of my intestine so they can put it back inside and I wont need the bag anymore. That surgery will be done on the 26th of April.... can't wait!~ I did find out that he didn't remove any of my colon, maybe an inch but did remove my rectum.....don't know how I didn't understand that.... I'll blame that on chemo brain.
I am so sorry that you were sick. I don't like tuna anymore and would be surprised if you could ever eat it again. I still have a hard time eating, especially meat but I do eat the junk that we shouldn't eat. I really hope I go back to normal soon. I am finally able to drink water, so that is good. I have been drinking orange juice with lots of pulp and grapefruit juice with no problems I also like cranberry juice. I still eat chocolate even though that doesn't taste as good as it used to and I should probably refrain from eating it.
I hope your next treatment and the recovery time is quick. I have to admit while I was getting the treatments it seemed to drag a bit and I dreaded them all, but now that they are over it seems to have gone by quickly. Now I am just waiting to determine when I should go back to work.
oh I wish we had grass to cut.... you can see the grass now but we are supposed to get a very bad storm tomorrow of 1-2 feet of snow and up to 60 mph winds. I am not looking forward to that, the only good thing is that I am not working and can stay home through it all, hopefully my husband will stay home as well, he drives an hour to work.
Thinking of you and sending prayers!
Its his bday today we are celebrating without him. He is dedicated and knew he was needed for plowing..... Hope your well...
The rash is like bad acne, lots of spots and pimples which can spread around the upper body I am told. When the spots join up together into a mass, it can lead to particularly sore areas. My nose is particularly affected.
I am told the rash will get worse if I do not stop therapy by 'deferring' for a week (and this will not mean a less effective treatment) so its a relief to know there is a deferral on offer if you need it. All of my treatment is being deferred for a week, not just the Panitimumab (Vectibix)
The 'rash', is not just cosmetic, you skin can also crack, it gets in your ears, on top of your head and could easily lead to further complications so it has to be dealt with before therapy continues.
Other than that, in my 'recovery' days I am thankful that I can be gardening for two hours and test my strength and stamina (as someone who is used to long distance walking, cycling etc) although at first it is easy to put off by a 'dizziness' / general lethargy, also one of my side effects is shortness of breath. Now it may not be for everyone but I do believe in overcoming 'therapy inertia' and that exercise will generally always do you good physically and mentally and aid recovery.
Please pray for the outcome of the antibiotics – I think they are doing the trick already!
I will keep you posted.
David
