Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
I had a colonoscopy yesterday. The doctor found and removed 3 polyps. One of the polyps is dark and weird looking on the pictures he gave me, it looks like a sore instead of the fatty looking lump the others appear to be. This polyp is 5 cm in size. He sent all 3 for biopsy.
What are the odds of colon cancer? I have a history of cervical cancer, all the weight/diabetes risk factors, and maternal uncle had colon cancer.
Sign me....scared.

Very true, do not jump to conclusions. This cannot be for sure until the biopsy is back and all else is only guessing.
I wish you the best and that all the polyps are non-cancerous.
