I have been on both Oxy and the 5-FU with the 5-FU I was also on lecovorin and avastin. I did really good with this ..it has helped keep me alive for over 7 years. Theyre is several never chemo drugs on the market but from someone who has tried it all these are the best. V

The chest port can be a real good thing during chemo. Glad to hear you made it through #1. Anticipation of the unknown is always the worst, don't you think?

I was also on Oxy -5FU and Leucovorin. I had 12 treatments. Kate keep us posted while you are on your cancer/chemo journey. We all care. Will keep you on my prayer list. God is the Great Physician, He will heal you. gg

Hi Kate... So glad to hear you're on the road to recovery.

I had the same cocktail as vikkii45 and did real well. After the "clinic" drip, I had a bolus push of 5fu and wore a fanny pack of the same for 40+hours. It made me real tired for the first few treatments, but as time went on I felt much better. Hang tuff kate,...we've got your back : )

Your on the way Kate. I had the same regime. My Onc called it the gold star treatment. All this will pass, sometimes it seems the 12 treatments will never end, so use your support crew, and us.

I couldn't sleep during my first treatment, really restless. This was one of the anti-nausea drugs I was on. Keep a little pen and pad handy and write down anything that may occur for your Onc. I often would forget on my good weeks. :}

I also did the Oxy, 5-FU, and Leucovorin with Erbitux for 6 months. Now, I am doing another 3-4 months of Just the 5- FU,Leucovorinand Erbitux. Hang in there. I have done really well with this with minimal side effects.
