Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
I'm approaching my 2 year mark and just found out that I don't have to have a colonoscopy this year! Awesome. Still have to do a CT Scan but rather than do it at the hospital, I'm doing it at the surgical center and they sent the dye home with me. I mix it with 3 16 oz drinks 90 minutes before the test. This is getting so convenient! I switch to 6 month visits (down from every 3 months) if my CT is good (still have a cyst on my ovary but they think it's nothing). I'm starting to feel like I have my life back. What ever will I do without this cloud over my head??? I like the thought of it. Wishing that all of us end up with the same dillema. I m at 1.5 years since dx ... and I feel like a just now turned a corner.
I m walking twice a day... joined weight watchers... out enjoying life.
So glad to hear the 2 year mark has some more positive momentum.
