Colorectal cancer, also called colon cancer or bowel cancer, includes cancerous growths in the colon, rectum and appendix. Many colorectal cancers are thought to arise from mushroom-like growths that are usually benign, but some may develop into cancer over time. The majority of the time, the diagnosis of localized colon cancer is through colonoscopy.
How long does it take to figure out what you can eat? We'll have a few good days and then BAM we're back to cramps and bad diarrhea. One month out of surgery (sub total colectomy). The first couple of weeks was low residue. Maybe we're just introducing foods too rapidly. Any help would be great.
This is the MOST important thing. My doctors told me to take a fiber product like Metamulcil to help absorb the water. Someone here - I think it was Coogee - recommended Psyllium from a health food store, which is the same thing and much cheaper. I took it daily for a year. After first your body has to get used to it, but after you take it regularly for a week or so it works like a charm.
