I am enrolled at Rasmussen University, an online school that also has about 20 or so physical locations. It's accredited and has been around since 1900. Honestly, I really think it's an excellent college. I don't know about reviews, but your best bet is to talk to an actual student, and I love it.

When I began researching online colleges, I was totally lost. I ended up with this one simply because it had the most extensive and rigorous program. I compared my program of study to many other colleges, and it included all the necessary studies I thought I'd need for my field. The degree is a huge 94 credits, but that is why I chose it.

It does have an Early Childhood Education degree program with four different specializations to choose from. Go into Rasmussen online under Early Childhood Education. The people are so nice there. I think you'll like it. Good luck!

I go to Rasmussen College online, not sure if that's the same as Rasmussen University or not. There are many locations in the upper midwest and florida, but the majority of students are online. I don't know all of the online degree programs offered, I am in criminal justice and its completely online. I also know they offer programs that are partially residential and partially online for programs that can't be 100% online. I absolutely love Rasmussen and the staff is super helpful and supportive. They are also really flexible with credit loads which is great for me because I also work full time and am the mom of a 1 year old so I have a lot of other priorities too.

I have also attended Minnesota School of Business. I doubt they have an education program since its mainly business there but you could check. I loved it there also but it was more expensive so I transferred to save money. MSB works with Globe University also in order to widen their program availability so you could check that out, although I've never really looked into Globe so I'm not sure what the online situation is there but I believe its the same price.

Rasmussen is a private school so its a bit expensive but my financial aid covers 3 to 4 classes a quarter (depending on credit hours per class) which is considered full time and works for me since I can't handle a large course load anyway! Hi, Court - nice to meet a fellow Rasmussen student. I was torn between the CJ program and Paralegal, and ended up with the paralegal program. I agree, Rasmussen is great, and so is their staff. Good people.

I started with the paralegal program when I was at MSB but found that it just wasn't exactly what I wanted and switched to criminal justice when I went to Rasmussen. Even if you decide that you went the wrong way, the credits transfer super easy between these programs and I barely lost any credits at all during the switch. Thanks, Court! I've been very undecided through this whole thing - I really love the CJ classes MUCH more, and that is where my true interest lies. I guess the reason I took the paralegal course was because I need to find work in 2 years, and I think the CJ program would require a 4 year degree - which would be great and I have no problem with it, but I really need to work asap ... lately I am wondering again, if I should have just taken the CJ courses ... ugh! I've been so torn. But that's typical of me. So you were able to transfer a lot of the credits? Even though the paralegal classes weren't really in the CJ program?

All of my generals transferred, and 3 of 4 specialized classes transferred. I was only there a year so I didn't have many specialized classes yet. I am currently in the 2 year program and hoping to finish within a year and then get a job doing something in the criminal justice field, even if its just a secretary or something small with lower pay. I plan on pursuing the completion program to get my bachelor's right after I graduate so that I will be working full time while completing my bachelors.

I am even currently looking for a job in the field that would only require a high school diploma just so I can get into the field and have experience. My career counselor suggested anything dealing with the vulnerable populations, so like low income family help programs, schools for troubled children, any volunteer organizations, and even daycares. I recently applied for a 911 dispatcher position at the local police station and am hoping to interview for that next week. Experience is key to getting a job so you might even try looking for one now.
