Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. that outta cut down on consumer spending.
What if it happens on a thanksgiving?!?!?! our entire economy would collapse because Black Friday will be ruined!
even worse... if one hits the moon, and then one gets through the atmo on the same day... ARMAGEDDON!!!!
but elise... this is something that many codependent people do, and it is one reason we are codependent... something ain't right upstairs... our "hope" button is a bit screwy.
You see... what i refer to as "normies"... they can get out of a relationship when they see it is going south because when they get out of it, they know that they are going to be ok, and that when they are ready, will go back out and get on that dating horse... they might not like it... but they have this positive thing goin on.
whereas something that "we" do... is have no hope for the future, everything is a cataclysmic event... you see the thought process goes a bit like... "if we break up then i will get ot crying, then i will get bags under my eyes and no one will want to date me... no one wants to date me i will be alone... and if i am alone i will become thise old person with 500 cats, dirty clothes and ...."
you see the difference?
However, your response was interesting because I wasn't aware that the hopelessness was so much of a codependent characteristic. I always attributed that to my depression. However, I have found that by through recovery of codep, I have remedied my depressive episodes as well - maybe there's a tie-in?
I'm going to pay more attention to this with myself now. It never occurred to me that my crisis reactions, and fear of the end was really just a lack of hope.
Thank you.
now everything issue seems so intense....life or death.
tell us a joke, j!
hope you had a good turkey day.
