I know it is wrong but I can not help myself. I find myself hiding the debit card and I went as far as to canceling it. My husband would go on drug runs. He would empty out our account and go and buy crack. It does not happen very frequently, it happens like every 6 months or so. If he is gone for a certain amount of time I would log onto online checking and constantly monitor it.
Maybe I am doing more than protecting him. I am maybe protecting me and the kids, because we have to buy food with the money.
I will also hide his marijuana and pretend like I drank the rest of his alcohol. Because when he drinks he gets very talkative and sometimes he tells our business to anyone who will listen. When he smokes marijuana he sometimes becomes very childish dancing, singing, and cracking jokes. It is scary because I never seen like that. When he has this other type of marijuana he becomes very mellow. I love him when he is like this.
Please tell me why I should not do this?

I can understand why you would cancel the debit card and not want him to drain your finances for drugs. You might consider Al-Anon for yourself. I really do not know how to advise you in this situation, but I can certainly understand why you want to protect yourself and your children.
