Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
I also have problems accepting the Buddhist version of non-attachment as the path to happiness. If we don't feel attached, why love or get married at all?
As a former co-dependent, I think happiness is loving someone without totally losing oneself. Love should be somewhere BETWEEN non-attachment and co-dependency.
Since I've discovered that I am codependent I have found myself feeling so alone, bored, and un-content with life. It's like everything I thought about myself is a lie and nothing makes me feel satisfied.
I do find happiness in my children; their laughter, their accomplishments, their hugs.. etc.
In my relationship I've discovered letting go of the need to control and non-stop worrying has just open a can of heartache, let down, and loneliness.
I do, however, believe that happiness comes from within!! I believe when I find happiness in myself is when I will be able to be truly happy with someone else.
This feeling is so beautiful that I can't describe it by words. It's like all the pain and burden has left my body and I'm almost just floating. Perhaps this video can give you an idea.

I think what makes me "happy" is when my state of mind is such that I am able to enjoy all that life has to offer.
How you can control that is by working on the variables that are in your power and learn how to react appropriately to those that are not.
Happiness is not something that happens to us; it's something we need to claim for ourselves!
How do I learn self care when I don't care what happens to me? How do I find happiness when nothing matters to me?
I just keep doing what I have to do and waiting for anything to happen. Too old and too tired to change the world now. Too hurt and too devastated to try.
