I'm not sure if this post really qualifies as a codependent post, but it certainly falls under having an internal conflict. I've had a really hard time getting over a past boyfriend, and I should be moving on. I've done some dating, although the pandemic makes it difficult. Also, I'm working and going to school at the same time, so there is no time at the moment for dating.
It really was not the right relationship for me. I'm a bit stuck on him because of some of the personal qualities he had of caring for me when I was not feeling well. I miss this. I am currently facing some frightening health problems and will need surgery. I remember him caring for me and wish he was here now. He is/was also very physically beautiful, tall and beautiful and we had a really good intimate relationship.
He's apparently moved to a foreign country from what I see on social media. I don't know if it's temporary or permanent. He is in the country that he was born in. He was in the miltary and moved around a lot. Since he went there about a month ago, I've been getting calls from that same country. It's very odd. I suppose it could be coincidential, but I find it curious that I'm receiving calls from the same place that he moved to. I've never received foreign calls before on my number. I still have the same number from when we were dating.
I don't have international calling, but there are ways to make international calls, I guess. I am really tempted to call the number back to see who it is, but I should probably not. I don't want him to know it's me. The curiosity is getting the best of me, but I feel nervous about doing it. I would be really, really suprised if he was calling me from across the world after being broken up for so long. It seems unlikely, but it is odd. What are the chances? I don't know...probably best not to find out. I don't know.
Why not pick up the phone the next time that number calls? I think there is a difference between receiving international calls and making international calls but you could check this with your cell phone carrier first. I could be wrong.
I had another thought, can you look on his social media and see if he lists a phone number? Could you message him through his social media and simply ask him if he has been calling you? No need to explain or write anything long, just ask the one question. This would be driving me nuts, but I am overly curious person.
Your other option is to simply block this number so you stop getting the calls. Mostly, I also think we believe what we want to believe. So this could be legitimate or it could be a scammer and not leaving a message or emailing you or contacting you via your own social media makes me think this is not legitimate. You could try an app that limits scammers, nomorobo is one. If this is a scammer, the app will stop the call as it is ringing. Good luck on this. And I wish you the best for your surgery.
