Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...

Hello. I joined this sight today. I am not sure how it all works (both the online sight and how to heal from codependency). All I know is that I kicked out my husband because of his addiction and now I am missing him. I need to stay strong and not allow him back into my life and our son's life.
I kicked him out about two weeks ago and at first I felt great! I felt free! I felt independant! But the past few days I have been missing him. I am greiving the loss of our relationship. On the other hand, our son is thriving. This is the happiest I have seen him in a long time. He is twelve and he is wiser than I am. He keeps reminding me that his Dad will probably not ever remain sober. (He has been in more treatments for his meth addiction than I can count.)

I've been on high dose prednisone for pneumonia, and now I am slowly weaning. But lots of symptoms I don't like having, plus overeating has put at least 10 lbs on me. The food is "loud" as the GLP-1 users refer to it.Also pressured speech. Which comes out in my posts. Sorry I posted so much. I just need an outlet for my agitated and irritable brain. Just scroll on by my posts, if they are too...

Has anyone heard from Jenn, she had an adult son with aspergers, Eric, they lived a long time with her grandmother, then they moved into an apartment. She had a funny little picture if I recall of a short dark haird woman as part of her name in a red dress. There are so many people who have dropped away from this room...I wonder where they are, and miss them. Wishing that DS could become what it...

I do understand the feeling great followed by grief thing. I’m in the process of emotionally detaching from my partner and when I unhooked that first attachment which was my feeling that I owed him and was responsible for his happiness I was giddy with that feeling of strength and independence. Then the grief and overwhelming sadness kicked in and I’m still dealing with it. Letting go of someone you love(d) is SO BLOODY painful! It is hard to stay strong. Good on you for reaching out for support to stay strong. I hope there’s an alanon or CODA group that you can go to. I went to my first meeting this past week and the support was amazing.
Wishing you and your son the best.
It helps to know that what I am feeling is "normal" or at least that someone out there understands what I am going through. Thanks!
Did you like the meeting? I have been thinking about attending one, but I am really nervous!
The path towards healthy lifestyle without the "life of conflict and confusion'' can be a challenge...do you think that might be what you are missing? In addition to a grieving process as well...not easy At All what you have done and will continue to face in the months ahead...your son's new found happiness I do hope will create some good feelings for you and some self healing.
Sometimes in my own life I've put Everyone First and not given myself what I needed to fill my cup, give me oxygen to breathe...little things of self care are Not Selfish...they build emotional strength. Baby steps to focus on ourselfves first, What Do We Need to promote a healthy physical and mental life. I think you are a Very Brave Woman!!

Yes, I have my own bank account and he does not have access to my money. (Thank goodness.)
Today has been a good day. My son had friends over and they were laughing uncontrollably. It was wonderful! I am taking things one day at a time and today was a good one!
Take care :)
