Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
We tend to attract each other, haven't you found? Either way, this will likely pass, but it's important for you to start learning how to detach.
For me, it's been easy to have these extreme relationships with others, full of drama, hurt, and uneasy but desperate love. it's what was the pattern I learned in my family of origin. And, it's really important for me to make sure I'm taking care of myself, focusing on me, and not hanging my hopes on new people that come into my life. I have to cultivate my own boundaries, and make sure I'm safe and happy within them, before I reach out for others to welcome in my life.
Take good care of you!
Forgive me, but I think you're better off alone. Your friend is being an idiot. Or, as others said, there's something she's not telling you...probably found a dude who's (for lack of a better word0 banging her.
:-)
You deserve better treatment and are sure to find it.
I know about having to let go of so-called friends all too well. It's hard, it's painful, but, sometimes, it must be done.
Stacey, these are the kinds of things you hear from real friends! Unfortunately, there's a huge lack of healthy, supportive people in the world; something I've learned the hard way. But, they're out there - this forum is a great example of that.
