Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
To me, a neurotic has learned poor ways of dealing with things emotionally. That's more a term from the 70s. Think every Woody Allen film ever made...
I'd be a little guarded with this therapist. I'm no professional, but she seems a bit off.
Neurosis and Codependent behaviors are similar. It's a good idea to look at both. I have behaviors that are characteristic of both.
Look into: projection, introjection, confluence, and retroflection.
Therapists do not know more about you than you (though we often create various defenses and behaviors to 'avoid/hide' truths from ourselves at times). Therapists are there to support you along your healing path. You guide the way. They are also there to raise your awareness... but it is you that decides if it relates to you. They are also there to collect information (in many forms) that you give them, use that information to assess what they think might be the issue, and then create a treatment plan that best promotes healing and growth. It is a partnership. :)
