Addiction affects a lot of people not just the addict. I give u an example: After my husband the crack and sex addict let me know he will meet an escort tomorrow how do u think it affected me? Oh he also said " I am sorry we don't have any sex that's why I am doing this". He also said "We can still be friends right?" He emotionally abused me for years by calling me b..tch and c...nt, f..ck up etc. So I lost interest in having sex with him also I avoid to ask his emotional support when I encounter various stresses from work, living expenses, society requirements ( taxes that got to be paid) birocracy ( paperwork for different documents, forms etc) traffik, health also addiction adding up to those stresses.... Not trying to play the victim just describing the effect of my husband's addiction on our relationshis. I am here for support so I have the right to say the side of my story right ? Our marriage stopped working long time ago because of lack of trust, lack of respect, neglect, lack of help with marriage responsibilities since the crack and porn are present in his daily and nightly routines. Love is respect but what I lived doesn't seams to be love at all. He wants to have sex not to make love to me. I 've be been miserable for so long ( 18 years of marriage) so as result a separation or divorce will have to happen in order for me to " get a life" lol. Oh and bankruptcy is also part of my story too. Can't get a place, a car with my credit not trough legit landlords or car dealerships so it is going to be interesting how I am going to do that "get a life" thing . My husband obsession with getting money from me to support his addiction distroyed my credit. But then again please don't think I want u to think I am looking for pitty. Trying to make a point : addiction can ruin a lot of lives not just addict's life. I am also using this forum like I would use a journal as part of recovery from being addicted to my husband ( I have a codependency issue). Another reason I am here is because I am trying to figure out addicts thinking and perspective besides what trigger them to do drugs in times of prosperity and while having a good life.
Thank u for reading this :).
Goodnight everybody!
We will chat later.
Take care.

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. Sweet Mia came to me from a shelter about...

If you live in the USA, there are people who will help you with divorce and help you begin a new life, but it depends on the state you live in. All you have to do is google it. Here is one that I searched but there are many:
https://www.lawyers.com/legal-info/family-law/divorce/how-a-spouses-domestic-violence-may-affect-divorce-strategy.html
You need alot of support for yourself. You are welcomed to journal here every day. That's what I did when I went though my own divorce and it helped me alot.
I hope you can find some peace.
God Bless
There are a lot of groups for individual needs here on DS, along with the journal Bob mentioned...in addition, the journals can be seen by your friends or be private for you only....little marker at bottom where you hit post.
Best of luck to you....
