Hello,
I broke up with my long-term boyfriend in April, joined CoDA in July, and am plugging along with my recovery now that I finally understand what's wrong with me. Because of the pandemic, I've been working from home for a year and a half and am very lonely. I live alone and only really have one friend who's busy most of the time. (I do have a little dog, thank goodness!). I attend one weekly in-person CoDA meeting and several online regularly. These meetings and the kind, supportive people there are saving my life, but I can't find a way to connect with people outside of that. Anyways, I am just so lonely and sad. I called a few program people a month or two ago but can't motivate myself to do it again. I tried hanging out for fellowship a few times after a CoDA meeting, and that seemed okay but uncomfortable.
Should I keep trying to force myself to call people? Is there some other way to connect? What about getting a "pen pal" on DailyStrength, someone I can check in with and write back and forth?

I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. Sweet Mia came to me from a shelter about...
