Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. My most sincerest advice is that you (as do we all) simply must create an ongoing healthy relationship with God, and not with a church or a religion but with God, as in being just one-to-one.
Having a healthy and functioning relationship with God is the very best thing for our self esteem, and it takes care of many human problems, including that God gives us the very best of boundaries and of feelings.
A QUOTE:
"Disregard the study of God and you sentence yourself to stumble and blunder through life, blindfolded, as it were, with no sense of direction and no understanding of what surrounds you."
by J.I. Packer
Many people today are anti-God and so we can have our own faith as very secret and private without telling anyone and that works just great because we really want it to be a "personal" relationship with God.
Just my opinion here, and trying to give some friendly advice.
What I find harder to do is to include God into our fun times and include God into our happy times, instead of just the hard times.
You might already do that - but I find it harder to include God in the fun then it is in the times of trouble.
God really needs to be in the middle of our human relationships, and I figure that each of my past broken relationships would have been so much better and longer lasting if I had included God into the mix - but no.
I even figure that this is the reason for so many divorces because people view marriage as under the control of the government instead of it being an agreement before God.
Of course lots of people claim they got married in a Church before God but they run fast to the divorce Court as soon as the marriage gets into trouble.
I myself (long ago when I was 20) got married in a big Church celebration in front of a Priest with both of our families attending, but after that wedding we left God behind and we left God out, and so it lasted 5 long hard years till the divorce.
Many people say that it is best to marry a person of the same faith or same religion, and maybe they are correct?
