Someone posted this in here the other day, so thought I would give it to you! This lady has a lot of helpful info! But basically, setting healthy boundaries is all about knowing yourself, your likes, your dislikes, your needs, your non-negotiable deal breakers etc.! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdYFla0jyEo
I'm really not too sure about not allowing your partner to text someone just because they have a history! In the uk, this is now against the law (Coercive Control). You can not disallow the other person from having friends or try to control their movements. However, if you don't trust this person perhaps you have a good reason not to trust them and should consider if you want to stay with them? I think that if someone made me feel very insecure, I would question myself -- do i have a reason to feel insecure? What is the likelihood that my feeling is true? etc. If I felt that my intuition was correct and that this person was most likely unfaithful or not treating me properly, I would distance myself. If, on the other hand, I could see that my own fears and insecurities are causing him to want to run away, I would address that ! Sending you blessings!
And I listened to him... Because it made sense, people are vicious ya know? Sometimes quiet is better...
But I felt uncomfortable at work. Just now am I beginning to come out of my shell, because I was always scared whatever I said would be used against me. His mom also got me the job so I didn't want to embarrass myself or him. Yeah I'm realizing how bad this is but I am stuck for now. Therapy is the only option right now.
I have never been able to talk freely in such a long time. That's why I'm rambling. I have 0 friends. I think he wants it that way he has all the control. I don't even know how to make friends anymore.
Because they cannot accept their own truth at a deep level, they fear being exposed and vulnerable. They try to divert the other by pleasing them.
Because we all have an ego, every human being suffers from this, And it is the ego that fears negative judgment. Those that are prepared to sit with themselves in regular introspection, discovering and facing all their fears of self. Are better equiped to accept their own truth. And ultimately not fear being judged, for they already have done that.
