Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
I know i am now doing what you said you had enough of in your meetings...so i'll tell you a few things that helped me when i was full of fighting spirit a few weeks ago
1. I joined a female supper club-not a posh affair, just women getting together to eat in a pub/restaurant. Nearly all were single, mixed ages and all looking for other women to do stuff with, cinema, sports etc..
2. I joined a local walking group. Again most people were single and all very friendly and have social stuff too
3. I stopped drinking a glass or 2 of wine each night....i'm not an alcoholic but when i feel sorry for myself I have a few and it leaves me feeling low, tired and sluggish the next day
4. I phone someone, and have a normal conversation with them, I find out what they've been doing and try and let some of their energy energize me in a positive way.
This might not help you but its how I try to sort myself out. Take care and big hugs x
the way i have coped for about 2 years now is to go to bed at about 8 pm and sleep it through .unfortunately this has led to a really unhealthy sleeping pattern where i go to bed at around 8pm and get up round 3 to4 am...that is why i post early in the morning. i tried to stay up later last night and managed to stay up till round 9.30 woke up round 5am which is progress.
but as far as that lonley feeling goes i know it well
congratulations on joining the groups you have.i think that is a thing i should do.

ink... boy are we in a conundrum... I can't seem to get out of bed much before noon and I can't seem to fall asleep much before 4 a.m. Seriously... we'd meet like ships passing in the night. LOL. I keep telling myself to get to bed a half hour earlier each night, set the alarm a half hour earlier in the a.m. Fat lotta good that's doing me... SIGH.
It's 1:40 a.m. and I'm still going strong. Even with a book in hand, I doubt I'll be getting any shut-eye prior to 3:30a.m. I love the nights -- so absolutely quiet. Maybe I've got a bit of ADD or something, but noise really grates on my nerves. All the traffic and sounds of the day jar me. It's the night when I find my body and mind relaxing and I can think more clearly . . . I love the sound of silence sometimes. Except on Saturday Nights. When it becomes deafening . . .
Thanks Again.
maybe you could have some investigation into the fact that maybe you have some add...its really a releif to have that helped.
