Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
tough And our bond runs deep.
One Of my brothers is not well and i pray
for him and there are no easy answers. He
Needs a lung transplant and has had a lot
of Recent losses on top of all that.
I am glad we are on this journey together
It does help a lot. HUGS
Alanon Would help you with all of those issues.
We need to learn how to self focus and work On
ourselves and all of our issues not others.
Some codependents are caretakers, some Are
fixers and some are controllers and sometimes
We are a mix of all of them. I am/was a passive
Caregiver type.
I have two younger sisters who were Like my
babies that have had drug addiction Issues and
you can not keep saving them. At some point
they need to help themselves. Often they need
to reach bottom first and to be willing to do the
Hard work that is needed to recover if that day
comes.
I am in the health care field too. That field Is top
heavy with codependents, IMHO. Thats my disease
Codependency And Its multi generational and
its a very deep and real issue.
Your post is not going into the void, i can imagine
the powerlessness is hard to accept when its your
child. Some days i feel blessed for no children other
Days i miss not having grandchildren.
There are tons of good links and reading on Here.
Many purchase codependent no more By melodie
Beattie or darlene lancer has Codependency for
dummies. Hugs
Thx for asking. I'm ok, just trying to figure everything o out and what's next. I'm kinda hanging right right now, I may be faced with another sugery, tests next week should give me answers. So, some days I feel I'm doing well mentally and other days I'm surely going crazy! Argh!
I am attending CoDA meetings and alanon. So this really helps. I know that I am not alone and continue to work on myself. Hugs
You need And getting out to meetings. I hope
Your health improves soon.
I beat every Bush i could find when i reached my
bottom. Once you become willing and you lose
your fears not much will stop you from recovering.
This is a long hard road and an Inside job. It takes
awhile to see that even In recovery. Its layers upon
layers that need to be peeled back.
Most newcomers want to fix the Other guy because
they are sicker. Thats not the way it works. Self Focusing
is hard for us codependents and its a huge Learning
curve just like learning self love and having some self
compassion, HUGS
Eating so i do know the feeling. I have
Some emotionally driven health issues
Too. That i am finally addressing.
The medical community acknowledges
It gets into the tissue eventually. Never
Mind any mental health issues from our
Disease, HUGS
