Melodie beattie its very alanon like. I suggust
therapy and attending coda/alanon Meetings.
There are a lot of good links on these threads,
Salina has posted many of them. Relationships
are where being a codie shows Up.
What was your upbringing like? Was there
Addictions, abuse, dysfunction, Narcissism,
Codependency? Many of us come From the
same types of homes.
Often our childhood developmental needs were not met
and we did not have healthy modeling from our Parents.
We have no idea we are enough or that we matter. In
recovery you need to reparent and retrain yourself and
its daunting. You Learn how to love and accept yourself
and know you are human and can make mistakes and
Can learn from them.
We learned to put others first and that is not the way its
suppose to be. It suppose to be God (higher power) then
You and everyone else afterward.
There are all levels of being a Codie, also many mental
health Issues come from being a codie and their level
of dysfunction and abuse Suffered As a child.
In a healthy mature relationship both people have self love
Onboard and both people have strong healthy boundaries
In place.
You can only fix and control yourself that is a real tough
One for a codie to do, to stop trying to fix and control the
Relationship and the other person. We are enough and
we Matter, HUGS
