Codependency Support Group
Codependency is defined as someone who exhibits too much, and often inappropriate, caring for another person's struggles. A codependent person may try to change, or feel shame about their most private thoughts and feelings if they conflict with the other person's struggles. If you are on a journey towards self-love, this support group is for you. Join us and find others...
What I would add is that people hang-on because most people simply do not know when a relationship is not working.
That is why a lot of break-ups happen suddenly, as if by surprise, because as soon as one figures out that the relationship is not working then they jump out of it quick.
"Knowledge is power" - because knowing is the first step in fixing anything or for breaking up, and most people do not know.
We would expect that when a couple is fighting yelling cussing and such - then they both could see that the relationship is broken - but no.
A famous saying declares this - that people have = "Eyes that can not see, and ears that can not hear, and a heart which can not understand."
Matthew 13:13-23 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2013:13-23&version=KJV
And sometimes we are addicted to the chaos because we can equate pain or chaos with love. And chaos in a relationship also gives us something else to focus on- we can focus on the other person and the chaos instead of focusing on ourselves.
Take care :)
