I think alot of times we can't face reality because of the pain we are in. But the truth is if we face our reality and accept our reality this act in and of itself will take away suffering. Just because we accept our reality doesn't mean we have to approve of our reality.
It is what is is...and now I can relax...and move onward.
For me, once I came to the realization that things weren't as I made them out to be and started taking things at face-value is when I realized how terribly codependent I am.
As difficult as its been, it was my "aha moment" and I 'm dearly grateful for that.
At this point, I try to be consciously aware of whats going on around me, instead of pretending its not happening. Not easy, but def getting better!
