Clarity Community Group
This group originally had been formed to lend support and to have open discussion on the topic of dissociation. We have since opened up to all aspects of PTSD, BPD, DID, BIP, Depression, etc. Basically our group is a safe supportive (non judgemental) place for open discussion on any somewhat related topic. We do not discriminate. We consider ourselves to be...
Please stay with us, because I'm so selfish, and want to get to know you better.
Stay.

I was in severe chronic pain from an injury. It wasn't intermittent. It was always. It was intractable from a injury right where my head and neck come together. It was a misalignment that felt like i was in a torture cell. It felt like a vise or someone who had a boot heel dug into my head. It felt like my head was improperly mounted on my spine. And it never stopped. The drs never really saw the injury, they were next to useless. The tests didn't really see it. Nontheless, they did several procedures on me that did squat as well. To try and hold my head up was agony.
That was 16 years ago. The 12 years and 6 weeks of constant suffering was partly releived by taking morphine at various doses (and various levels of help) for 9 of the 12 years. Now comes the good part.
Bad luck ironically turns good:
4 years ago, they took me off all meds because of contract violation. It plunged me back into a cesspool of agony. After 2 months to titrate off 180mg/day of morphine amidst increasing pain, I was sleeping 2 hours every 3rd day, overcome by exhaustion. I was in severe agony 24 hours a day. I asked my doctor for help, now, this is 12 years after this pain started. At the beginning, i had major benefits from my job. but 12 years of pain with little support had left me impoverished and unable to even go DO the same old useless test. . September 2006 was a desparate month of pain so bad, and as i came to understand later, the double concussion had cuased symptoms that mtbi people know so well. I never guessed that because the pain was forfront and intense... ok, here ya go, now comes the fun part
The day I found the answer:
Talking about it, in renewed pain, with my doc proved him clueless and useless, I literally rolled my eyes leaving his office and turned to the Internet to search one more time for an answer. I found it that afternoon. I had a little procedure you can read about on my page that just reset my entire spine from inside my head down. It felt like my head was literally remounted on my spine properly. I was 95% relieved of the pain that never ended. I had a couple more procudures which improved me greatly as well, but that first one ended the debilitating level of pain that destoyed much of my life. Actually, this procedure can help so much becuase your spinal aligntment is very key to health. I'm 53 and i look 42. Ride a bike all over the place - and i'm just here because this worked for me.
All I'm saying is that .. other answers were on my list of 'possible resolutions' and hanging in there for all that time for me, my family and kids, payed off. All is possible.
:)
after 12 years in agony and ending up housebound and in agony. It took me 3-4 years to really get back to the abilty i had back before all this, but now i'm there and have discovered new abilities and I am having the most excellent new life. I literally have had to rebuild my own sense of self. Quite literally self-confidence self-esteem, no one could understand what happened to me, and some were harshly judgmental. they were wrong. DS has been helpful rebuilding that sense of self, the understanding here replaced that I needed in my physical world. I had also become very dependant, a silly little book called the Power of Now helped me change direction of that. My soul needed to heal as well.
A better answer might be right around the corner that is worth surviving for.
Sincerly. Harvey
You have done such a great service to so many people sharing your experience and bringing NCR out into the public. ( yes I am still considering it myself)
even though Harvey speaks of TBI he speaks of years of agony and hanging on. He now is doing very well, has a great career in music in Florida. I think Clarity should come down for your next performance my dear friend.
Love you Harvey......thank you for stopping by.
We can all take away life lessons from reading your words.
Hugs,
Bridget
