The relation is too much sugar = too much liver fat = fatty liver = cirrhosis.

Thank heavens it is not coke = cirrhosis, like alcohol = cirrhosis.

Thank heavens I got my cirrhosis through alcohol. At least I enjoyed the ride even if the destination wasn't quite what I had in mind. :-)

Well my favourite drink was Barcadi & Coke, so this has me wondering.
Maybe not a good idea to go around telling people that I had a "coke"

I used to drink vodka and tonic so maybe for me it was the tonic.........

Thank goodness I've never been a coke drinker...or any soda for that matter....however, I'd better tell my brother and husband and the majority of people I know how suck down gallons of it a day...though since my diagnosis they get regular tests, just incase (they drink too, though not in volumes).

Yea I'm the same, don't really drink the stuff.
I don't know whether you have alcopops over there,
Its an alcoholic drink that tastes like its been concocted in the Sugar bowl
Its aimed at young people to disguise the taste of alcohol. some of these drinks have 5% alcohol content . So I suppose you will be getting a double whamy of sugar and alcohol.

I have to admit,I am a pop-aholic. Mine is diet,but they say that the artificial sweetners are a sure thing for cancers. Seems like I loose either way I turn. But hubby's dirnk of choice is rum and coke,so apparently acording to this article,he didn't stand a chance..coke plus alcohol..no wonder he developed cirrhosis. Double whammy.

Is that ALL soda's ????? what a bummer if it is..:(...but I guess I'll be drinking healthy drinks from now on.. I have lost a taste for soft drinks anyway.. I wonder if that's why ??? ya never know !!!
