My husband recently died from liver failure. He was diagnosed with cirrhosis last year. He was a heavy drinker and I later found out was addicted to vicodin. I also drink, mostly wine and I don't take pills not even asprin. Right after his death I started drinking more but a few weeks ago stopped. I started having pain in my side. Now I am deathly afraid I have liver issures. I don't have any of the syptoms my husband had or that i have read off. No jaundice, not losing weight or dark stools just the pain. My stomach sometimes feels bloated. My urine is still light in color. i had blood work done about four months ago and nothing was mentioned about my liver. Because of the trauma with my husband dying i scared to death of going to the doctor. i was hoping someone had any thoughts.
Sorry for loss of your husband. I hope you have good support or can find a local group. Grief can trigger many anxiety reactions, depression, hypochondria, etc. It is a very important time to be pro active about your health.
