Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Late last night I was on the fense about going to the hospital or waiting it out on home. I had a plan that I would give it to 4 am.
I did wake up extremely tired but without pain. Ya!
I read last night on the internet that in some cases, Botox injections for migraines may cause a worse migraine......Well now holy shit!!!!! that was absolute hell and I can only hope that was just the botox settling in and not more to come. Its teh weekend and my neuro doctor is unavailble as he was yesterday again.
I'm afraid to move. Tonight I'm throwing my lover a 50th birthdday party but it is at pub so I can release the work to the waitresses and leave if I have to.
I'm sure you've tried it all, but one thing that's helped me cope is a good pair of sunglasses! I looked like a kook in a store the other evening but I don't care - those flourescent lights might as well be strobes :0
Take care,
Raggedy
Don't you just wish, for maybe 24 hours, those uncaring doctors could suffer our pain? Perhaps then they'd return phone calls, give better pain meds, etc.
As for the botox shots. I started them almost two years ago. I get them every 3 months. It took 3 treatments before I noticed much relief. So hang in there, keep going back for the shots. I'll be praying for the botox to work for you.
Imitrex, percocet, and ms contin kept me working until an MRI showed how bad the disc's in my neck were pushing on my spinal cord. Surgery, fusions saved me for seven years until next two discs up started it all over again. I wish I had same DR. now.
A very good chiropractor is keeping me sane, (well mostly) he says that at C3 up through C2 and C1 is a small artery that supplies a small but vital amount of blood to the brain. Between C4 - C3 this artery has to turn almost 90 degrees to go up through small holes in the bony portion posterior to the discs. There is very little room for error here, that is why sometimes an adjustment and sometime surgery can solve these problems.
This by no means will cure everyone, or all migraines, not by a long shot but it is an angle to look into.
