Wow...I don't know what to say. If you have a month's worth of meds, you better make finding a new doc a priority. It might be a blessing to be done with the one you've been so aggravated with. I remember the problems you've had with him at each appt.

I'm sorry your personal life is in such a bad way. I just don't understand families who aren't willing to help. I wish I could loan you mine.

Please check in more often...I've been wondering what happened to you!

Hi Mark the Complainer, I'm Cindy the whinger! I totally hear you! I'm coming up to 12 years of a f*%ked shoulder now and I'm only 36. I'm hoping to go in for my 4th round of surgery early next year. Cause of the pain meds I'm on (and their ease of overdose), I can only get 7-10 days worth at a time. It's taken a couple of years but I've finally found a good GP. Sounds like the issue with yours is a blessing in disguise. There is definately someone out there who can better manage your situation than that git!
Try to not blame your wife, she doesn't understand, much like my husband. As much as they would like to, it is something you have to live to "get".
Keep venting, and your father's unfortunate end was not your legacy. Your legacy is how you can fight through for your children.

yes priority number 1 doc I was going to start today if I survive the drive dropping my daughter off from school, I have 2 names of docs in my area and 4 detox clinics money is a problem my co pay is $40 so I will have to sell my body first to raise the money ha ha I wish at least I'm still laughing, I am scared shitless wish I had support at home that would help greatly and when it comes to my wife don't let her and everyone off the hook so easily I have paid my dues gotta go thanks all

if you have a hard time finding a doctor to give you pain meds you should go on suboxon as it will help with the pain it is stronger then fentayl patches and then you will not have to go through detox. This way you can get pain relief till you can figure out what you are doing because You will not be able to do anything while you withdrawal from pain meds this way if you take it you will have a clear mind to do what you have to do.

I take suboxone for pain relief I dont like the long term side effects of pain meds and it was the last hell Mary for my doctor to try alot of people in the UK take it for pain relief so she said to try it and it works for me. IT might not be what you want long term but it will help in the short term

Plus it will be alot easier for you to find a doctor to prescribe then a doctor to prescribe pain meds. There is a stigma attached to it and it might hurt you in the long term explaining to a new doctor why you had to take it short term as it is usually used for people who want to get off of pain meds or some one who has a problem with pain meds, so it is something to thing about if you go do it.

Get your health figured out first then the situation with the wife as that may take longer to figure out and you want to be in a good place mentally while you do that.

Mark I'm sorry you are going through all of this. Last month you said this doctor was going to send you for a consult on a pain pump. What ever happened with that? And what reason did you doctor give for dropping you? It sounded like you had a plan.

Hopefully you can get this all straightened out.

Just wanted to send bucket loads of support your way. I had a doc like that for about 15 long mo, a neurologist. each time I saw him it was like the very first visit, i'd repeat the same story. I'm terribly sorry you are in so much pain and without a pain doc. it's scary. i hope you find one you like and trust asap.i agree with cindy this may just be a blessing in disguise.
i'm sorry too about trouble on the home front.
i find it tragic that people with cp are so misunderstood by docs, friends, family, spouses - it seems at times by the world.

Im new hear and havent had the pleasure of you past rantings...lol I so get you on the crappy doctor thing. I had the same complaint about mine. He has no idea who i am or what we talked about last month. I have only been seeking treatment for about 6 months but i am always perceived as drug seeking. it is super annoying. I have move to New York and holly cow is it hard to find a doc to give you anything but tramadol (i have tried it and it does not help me) but they ALL want you to take it.

So I get it! Hope you endeavor to locate a GOOD and understanding doctor go well.

wow that situation really really sucks. You aren't just a big old complainer you have serious problems. Your brother should have put you up for a while at least and your doc sounds like a dumb jerk. You need those pills to live even as they are killing you. Try to find yourself a new doctor and make sure to mention you want to try to get on a program to lower your dosages and maybe even stop some of your meds.

i agree its a blessing that your forced to find a new doc...it took me forever to find my current one but he is AWESOME...he knows who i am,whats wrong and has his massage therapist working on me,and i get injections and tense unit and back brace.

suboxen doesnt help with severe pain..i was on 3 a day for 5 months till i hit the roof with pain..it only helps with w-d's you will have if you dont have your meds..

yes..no.1 find a good pain doc...one thats does not have 5 different docs in his office!!!!!...you will find one and be blessed.im praying for you.

your wife,sounds like a pistol..im sorry for w-ever she's doing.i will not take up for her!!!!!.....my EX-HUSBAND....treated me like crap..i finally got kicked out by him!!!..good riddance i say.ive been single 12 yrs and im ok with it..

you know im sorry your brother wont let you live with him..hopefully something will work out for you on that.family sometimes judge us as addicts and want nothing to do with us..some of mine are that way also..

i dont get high from my meds either,just some much needed relief.

I am soo sorry that things are soo bad at this moment , I hope that things will get better for you and that you can find a new dr that will help you . I know the same for me as far as meds do not do anything but help the pain and barely at that . I hope that things will look up for you soon with sincerity ...

I read that you did not get any pain relief from suboxone and I was sort of shocked as I have tried everything Morpine high dosages and fentayl patches and everything in between and for me the subs give me more pain relief then any of them. I guess all our bodies are different as I have been on it for almost two years when my insurance did not want to cover it anymore because it was off label I went back on the morphine with break through meds and it was not enough and I felt so drugged so I went off my pain meds and paid out of pocket for the subs as I could not handle the pain anymore and the side effects.

Did you find something that worked just in case I do go off one day I would like to know as I hate doing the whole test this one and that one with no help and having weeks of hell to deal with.

I would like to add that we should remember what works for one may not for another.

I have had wonderful results from Suboxone... the best...

Hey all wow some great people out there, I appreciate all your support. Ok Tuesdays update drove manslaughter to school yesterday its a 45 min drive WOW did that hurt so I drop her off pullout of the parking lot and she calls me to pick her up she is throwing up, she is a drama queen and will do anything to stay out of going to school. She is sooo smart an honor student but lazy how she gets the grades she gets is beyond me. ok well to keep everybody up to date after the drive to school 45 min of pure hell one way, time to hit the pharmacy to get my last scripts filled from the old ass doc, they filled them woaaa its always a question will they have them will the insurance let me you all know the fears or being an addict. did i tell u all my wife says if i leave she will take me off her health insurance so yesterday i called social security and now i know its another 14 months before i am eligable for medicare ouch i have been paying in to the system all my life ouch, so 14 more months with my wife and you all are going to see me on the news ha aha. ok next its medicaid trying to navigate the web and find the info oh no i filled out the wrong info my phone starts ringing within 5 min of doing this and the whole world is trying to sell me insurance me bad oh great ugh. ok so lets see oh yea called a pain doc near me and they dont want anything to do with me i take too much stuff, yea i know you are 5 min from my house and i need help with that, please help me i need rehab and some new thinking, sorry we wont see you. we will give you some phone numbers of doctors that will take people like you, AGGGGG LIKE ME F--K THIS NOW I AM PISSED. so i give up, enough shit for today, gotta relax or i am going to bust a gut. OK lets see i know i can unfriend my brother from Facebook that will help make me feel better OK a little better. done now what but my phone wont stop ringing i really screwed my self . So I call the medtronic rep that watched in horror as my old pain doc installs the wire in my back for the cordical trial, man that hurt all they gave me was vallium vallium thats like asprin to me and my doc should be working construction im screaming like im gettin killed. He still hasnt called me hoping he can recomend a pain doc he told me to call him if i needed anything i should sue that doc. enough for now by all feel good

Now for the next chapter my general six did some blood work 2 weeks ago and I'm not hearing anything so I call to find out what's up and he needs to see me uh oh.
