Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I always looked forward to the solitude, and watching and talking with the Deer in the area.
I was a Volunteer at Music Venue, 5 blocks from where I was living. The other Volunteers, the patron's & the Music made my Best Summer Ever.
Then I had some strange happenings in my rt thigh. Was numb, then burning, then zings going non stop. 5 days later, I broke out in rash and blisters on my rt butt cheek.
My PCP Dx'd Shingles. I was stunned at 53, coming down with this crap.Started on AntiVirals right away, along with Prednesone and Percocets. I thought I was doing everything right, to get thru this attack.
The severe pain stayed with me into Winter. Way Depressing.
Was Dx'd with PHN Nerve Pain, that has stuck with me 2 years later. Have been thru many Nerve Meds, Anti-Seizure Meds and more, and the nerves are still fried and sending pain signals to my brain 24/7.
The rash and blisters are gone, but the nerve pathway from my spine to skin is always shouting-Ron, your azz is on Fire!
I have a team of 6 Dr's, and none have given me hope that this will go away. Fried Nerves rarely heal themselves.
It seems I am in the 10% of PHN cases, that do not resolve.
Have not been able to sit or drive much, and the meds I am on long term, scramble my thinking.
The upside of all this is I was forced to move 300 miles away to live with Family. I now have the time to spend my Nieces and Nephews and their Beautiful Families. I have time now to perfect my BBQ recipes.
It could be worse.
