Oh my, I used to frequent this Migraine forum, and there was this woman who was so nice one minute and a viper the next. Once she tore into me because she thought I had created some insult, and I did not like her at all.

Well, months later she spoke up about where she lived and it was a 10 minute drive from where I lived. There was no WAY I was going to let on that we were neighbours. I like to keep my location secret.

i was staying with a friend in a suburb of atlanta and met a DS friend who lived near there (had no idea her town was so close). first we looked like sisters. i think thewaiters in the restaurant thought we were separated at birth. we chatted away, went to my friend's house and chatted more. it was so much fun! if you know someone well on here, i think it can be great! we both said you're just like you are on DS!

I have DS friends I talk to on the phone that are like sisters. I would meet them in a heartbeat.

It's crazy, isn't it? Just ask the number of people from MI to post- it's a lot! Not that we have much chance of living nearby each other, but it would be nice!

In fact the 1st person I met here was from MI, and helped me to find a doctor! She isn't around anymore (at least not posting that I can see) but she will always be an angel to my family and I!

Speaking of, we should make a list of the people here who WOULD like to get together in real life. With my luck all the MIchiganders will be from the UP, but you never know! And I DO travel.

Maybe one day we could have a CP patients get-together- depending on how many people would be able to make it. As a travel consultant I could look into the best places to meet (if we ever did a nationwide one) or even a statewide or Midwest. I could recommend hotels and help with transportation.

Maybe it's just a pipe dream but one never knows! ;)

Ive met some good friends on support groups. After years of talking we learn to trust & there are a couple who know my email or phone.
I love them dearly & its like we've know each other for years & years..
In fact one helped me through some tough times & I hope the day comes I can meet her.

We do not live in the same state though.

I do live in MI & am not one bit crazy. I'm a bit of a sucker though, so Ive been told. I see nothing wrong with meeting in public at first & would not mind a bit perhaps one day.

Michigan is big Jen, as are most states.
I will tell you my daughters boyfriend lives up north, Traverse area & she in the metro area, south of Detroit,

They met on a field trip yrs ago & are in collage together now.
How funny is that? On their second year together, started out friends.

I don't feel real comfortable saying exactly where I live but the general area is fine. I think there are a couple who live near by but I respect the fact they like the way it is. Then again if I could ever be of help I'd do so.

Thanks Sammy. I'm in Ann Arbor Area, so if you ever decide you want to get together, Id be happy to meet. And yes, when I 1st moved here I had NO idea how large MI is. People would say the UP and I was like, what's that? Still haven't been there.

It's one big state, & we sure have a lot of people from here!

If there ever is a get together, don't leave me out...I live in the north east.

It is a small world....my husband plays live music in the lodges on the weekends and they just hired a new bass player...you won't believe who he is married to.....no one else but the psychologist at the bariatric clinic whom I worked with this past year. Neither she nor I could believe it and we both agreed that none of the people who come to dance would know; that it would be a secret between the wives. She cannot even tell her husband that I was her patient due to the famous and all controlling HIPAA. In a community the size that I live in; it really is a small world afterall.
