I got a certified letter from my Dermatologist that the biopsies I had taken on Monday were cancer! No call, but a certified letter! They have never done that before. Normally they just tell me at my follow up. I have had stage 3 melanoma so I am careful and when I find something I get it checked. I do not think any of these were melanoma and I have had about 12 other basil cells but I have never been notified this way before. I had already had my follow up scheduled for about 10 days. It's probably just a CYA new policy or something.

Please do consider calling them now instead of waiting 10 days. Perhaps they'll slot you in sooner or arrange a procedure or something else as needed then. Since you already know the results, waiting for a "results" appt seems a precious waste of time. Plus by calling, you'll let them know what happened and how it affected you. Is it possible some newbie messed up? If so that's something they need to know to address. Again, sorry to hear the news; it stinks you found out this way. Hugs, raggedy

I`am sorry you had to go through that..
Don`t you just wish these doctors get a taste of their own medicine
at some point in time? Maybe then they might become a tad more compassionate.

Yes I tried to get in earlier but next week I am slammed with other doctor appointments that I cannot miss so the 16th it is. I have thought about writing a letter but I got to this doc through my onchologist because the other Derm they had sent me to was awful. He spoke like I wasn't there, told me I looked awful, just a rude bedside manner so I asked for a different doc and this was it. But I will probably complain anyway. The good new is depending on how much they need to take off I will be referred to the plastic sugeon who did my other skin cancer last year. So I will only have to deal with the Derm for biopsies.

Mustlovecats, Serenity, Raggedy thanks for the well wishes and Rosanne, yes I wish they did have something like this so they could get a taste of their own medicine. And I really felt that for the first Derm, he was an absolute jerk!
