It has now been 2 years since I actually had major neck surgery.(as in neck fusion)(C4&5) Yep! I did leave the hospital on March 7th. OK. I even wore the neck brace 12 straight weeks. By the way, the surgery was successful, even though I have been told my neck is still not 100% underneath the surgery area.(nothing to sweat bullets over) OK. An MRI was showing spinal stenosis and degenerative disc ...disease in my lower back on December 21st of that same year. What a bummer! Ugh! OK. I actually had a HIDA scan back in January that was showing my gallbladder is borderline messed up. I actually had an endoscopy by a gastroenterologist on February 8.(last month)OK. He did find hiatal hernia and gastritis. Geez! Ugh! I actually had cystoscopy with hydrodistention done last Thursday. In case someone is not aware, that would mean he looked into my bladder and then extended it however much that he could.(with water)OK. That can be used to determine whether or not a person has got interstitial cystitis.(which I did have my first cysto with hydro back in September of 1997)(diagnosed then)OK. I will be having gallbladder surgery in the morning. How about that? By the way, I am well aware some people not put on their wall what I am putting on mine now.(and just stating) Hey! It won't bother me. I did state the truth to begin with. I am not impressed with any of it, in case somebody wants to know. I don't enjoy having IC at all. I don't enjoy having DDD at all. I don't enjoy being unable to work any longer. I am even tired of going to see different doctors by now. I can still work according to SSA, but I couldn't even stand up straight an hour ago. OK. I walk with a cane often, too. I don't know many jobs where I could take off to have a HIDA scan, endoscopy, cystoscopy, and gallbladder surgery all in less than 3 months. OK. Typing is not making me feel better now. I still went to church yesterday, even though I was in enough pain to where I stayed home on some Sundays. (and can't get through a service without having to go to the bathroom)OK. That will be all now.
Regarding SS, don't give up b/c you were denied. Keep appealing, once you get to the hearing with the judge, you'll have the best chance to present your case face to face to an actual person, the judge. That's the phase I reached and won my appeal. If you used a lawyer, just keep him updated with all your diagnoses and procedures and surgeries. If you didn't use a lawyer, keep your own file withe SS updated.

you've had a a tough road. DS is a bit goofy right now with connections, but i wish you the best with your surgery and recovery. let us know when you're up to connecting.

Do you take Elmiron for the IC? It has been controlling it very well. But none of the hospitals have it so I always have to get my husband to fetch it for me. I was intubated in the ICU once and kept writing "IC" because my bladder was spasming from the Foley catheter. The nurses thought I meant "ice". When I finally got extubated, I explained to the nurses what IC is- stupidity is rampant.
