They always sound so good in writing and when you get there they are not what they seem to be or preach I sure hope this one is different and they practice what they preach.

Always have hope, this may be the one that you find that will finally help and you can get on with your life.

My doctors are doing the same thing. Everything is fibro. Then my pain clinic and my heart clinic said it sounds like a pinched nerve. I researched a lot and found out my pcp should have been doing xrays, if my pt thought my back was popping/sliding a lot. I honestly just think they run into one thing they dont like, then they quit helping you. Do what I started doing and blab to every nurse and doctor if you have to. Hope it gets better for you. Make sure they check your heart rate. Mine went from 95 to 78 from one epidural. Nurse said its all pain.

I have other things going on besides Fibro like cervical neuropathy and tendonitis in my shoulder...oh and arthritis.

I'm a tough case with so many symptoms going on right now and getting worse. The two times I've had steroid/anesthetic injections, I had a bad reaction and a lot more pain after. I have no idea what this pain clinic is going to do for me, but it has to be more than what I've gotten from my PCP!

Today I will leave my doc's with copies of pertinent records in hand! They don't know it yet...

They sound Cherry, it looks like they treat pain with all of the modalities that are available, so that's a good thing. I had ESI's done and they didn't work, but at least I tried them. I LOVE trigger point injections, those give me a lot of benefit, so is good to see that they offer them.

As far as medications, it looks like they will work with their patients to get them in a medication management schedule, but do not get dissappointed if they don't give you the strong meds right away, usually they like to start you in mild narcotics, and then work from there, so my advice is to keep an open mind and allow them to guide you into their system.

It also sounds like you will have to sign a medication agreement, I signed one with my PM Doc, and as long as you take your medications as directed, you should be fine. Let us know how it works out, and good luck hun, hopefully this is the God send clinic that you needed.

I've had trigger point injections and had a terrible reaction to them. Even the sterid shot I had in my shoulder 2 weeks ago caused terribl pain and muscles spasms that haven't subsided, yet. Needless to say, I am wary of agreeing to that again.

Also, I'm on more than one narcotic now and signed the agreement with my PCP. I've even had to endure random pee tests!

God only knows what they're going to do for me. I don't have great expectations.

Hun, I know how you feel. My doc tries to blame everything on Celiac. Even when I needed my gallbladder out, he blamed Celiac for a couple weeks. I finally had to call the surgeon myself.

Now he trusts that I can be sick other than Celiac.

Personally, I hate the Fibro label. It seems to be to be a cop-out for everything. Once you have that dx, everything is your fault or just another part of this catch all.
I know it is real! DOn't get me wrong. I know it is painful TOO! People took their lives from the pain of this illness, WE must never forget their sacrifice.
BUT, to blame it for everything that hurts seems wrong to me.

Keep complaining. Get some WWW info and see if the doc will read something. Can you take a loved one with you to the docs office?

I agree with Sunny Bunn. Take a loved one to the office if you can. I too have an appointment tomorrow with a Pain Clinic, and I too am not going to place expectation on it, becuase like you, I have gotten excited about each different place I had appointments for, and been disappointed and even disrespected and rejected time and time again.

Also too hate the Fibro tag that doctors who don't know throw around. "I don't know what's really wrong, so let's blame this on Fibro". Really frustrating and annoying. Ah well.

I also agree with Paulina that the right doctor/clinic is out there. We just gotta keep making these appointments and showing up. That's what we can do. I pray for both our appoinments tomorrow. Keep hope alive ! Don't stop believen ;)
