Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

No great spreads today, ok, it is actually lunch so I will change the title from breakfast to lunch. I think we are all going to huddle around a nice fire in some comfy chairs away from all the pain the stress of this time of year. All pain stops at the door and stays gone for as long as you stay. The kitchen will bring out any food you want.
So, what are your plans today? how are you doing?
I am starting to come out of being sick. I feel almost human, though I still don't have a voice and am coughing constantly.
Today I have to go out and water the horses. Well, there is a brief chance that they were watered yesterday, but unless I get a positive YES from the person who was supposed to water them, I will assume that it is a no and go out.
I want to go check out another stable this afternoon. Don't know if there is enough of me to spread that far.
As I have not been doing much since getting sick, my specific pain level is down, though it is hard to tell what is real chronic pain and what is achy from being sick pain. Ug. I don't have time anymore to be sick. There is too much to get done.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

I have my AA home group tonight to get out...
Oh by the way I have been pretty much pain free and no pain meds since having my cortisone shots in both knees last week monday....yup pain free...that feels good to me...worst thing is that the tingle in my neck became pain not tingle now but is down again...it hurt over weekend...after hearing about bulging discs on right side...when pain is on left side....
anyway my meetup group deadline for tonight is going to see about 400 members dropped from group for not paying dues...
I don't have a lot of plans for today, but this is the third day I have been cooped up here, so I think I will go out and mail my few holiday cards. There are just a few too many for the mail lady to pick up here.
Over the weekend, I went out to do laundry. While I was sitting there, another customer cried out, "There's Santa Claus." There was a small parade of people riding decorated bicycles and they were dressed up as varying degrees of Santa. Taking up the rear were "elves." It was fun.
Back from my "wild rocker" days I acquired a little stick pin in the shape of a Gibson Les Paul. There is a young lady who sacks groceries where I work that I am fond of. She is probably in her 30's (hard to tell) and like many of the sackers, she is developmentally disabled. But she is very sweet and friendly and she always talks about how much she likes to play hard rock guitar. I learned a while back that she was out having a hysterectomy. So, Saturday, when I was going through her line, I asked her if she liked Jimmy Page. "Oh, yeah," she replied, so I gave her the little guitar pin tack (since it's like the kind he plays.) She was so surprised. I wished her a Merry Christmas.
I know that is kind of silly and wasn't much, but it was fun to surprise her.
I haven't been feeling so hot myself and am winding up some antibiotics. I just feel like I have a low-grade "something." I'm also getting tired. It's probably due to lack of activity. I was feeling much more energetic around Thanksgiving. Surely, I still can't be tired out from having my hip surgery back in October?
Also, at night, I'm having something like restless leg syndrome and now I''m getting these burning/shock-like sensations in my toes. They are very fleeting. When I asked my ortho's nurse about the RLS (which I heard can happen temporarily after surgery) she said they didn't know what to do and I should call my PC. I didn't. I know I have arthritis and probably some neuropathy in my feet.
I suppose I'll address that in January. That is, if I have any type of insurance. Still waiting to sort that out.
and Bill.. YAY!! No pain is the GOAL!!!
Even despite this, my blood sugar levels are still 130. I guess my body is wonky as heck. I'll give it a few more weeks then I will schedule another appointment with my doc to try another med with this med. The med is working some, because two weeks ago my blood sugar was approaching the 300 mark. On a side note, my cat has been glued to me for three days straight. She is either sleeping on my chest, lap, or on by my feet on the chair that I use to elevate my legs. I hope she doesn't sense any impending medical incident. I've read that animals can sense when something is going to happen to their owners. Any how I hope everyone is having a good evening - even though it is really late for those of you who are back east. If I didn't go down the list one by one and type back to all of you guys, please forgive me. I'm just going really fast tonight and not really feeling like reading through all of the details. I have a lot of mental fatigue today. Hugs to everyone!
