MARKLEBOFF
Hello to all my friends out there and also to those who don't. Know me, I don't post much, too hard for me hate typing and as we all know energy is a terrible thing when you have none.
I just have to post my recent experience at a treatment center, in delray hospital, in Florida. I am diabetic and have been fighting chronic pain for 4 years and just couldn't take the oxy anymore, so I call my insurance co and ask for a treatment facility near me and Delray Medical center is the closest. Yea 30 min in a car is about my limit. So I call talk to the women who run the facility there and everything sounds great, now I am admitting my self so I expect care not jail. I tell them all this. I arrive at the hospital at 9am and have to go through emergency, OK no problem they check me out and I wait, hours around noon I am finally taken to the office of the facility, on the grounds of the hospital. Now I fill out 50 forms answer 100 questions and wait in a 3x4 waiting room all alone. Now my meds are warring off and I was told not to bring anything with me, all my needs would be provided. And I wait 4 hours going crazy in this room while they do whatever they do to get me admitted to the facility.
I finally get taken in, I am in bad shape and the door locks behind me. Ugh I look around and I can't believe my eyes , while I am body searched I see and hear and smell hell on earth, I am freaking out what did I get my self into now. After everything I have is taken away from me I start walking around, the most barebones facility you can imagine, they have mental patients mixed in with the detox people and I am freaking out, my room mate is charlie Manson. And everything is just disgusting. Now I gotta get out so I try and am told I have to see the doctor first and I wait. So I see the doc and I explain I diddnt expect such a disgusting atmosphere and ask why the mental patients, he won't answer, he just says expect to be here a minimum of. 10 days Woa no way I'm staying in these conditions 10 days so finally I get out just to drive home in rush hour, luckily I have meds in my car. So I have been home detoxing alone for the past 16 days. 2 days into my home care I get tramadol and xanax from my doc. The pain has been kinda manageable in my legs but the worse thing is keeping my sugar under control. My body is freaking out, no matter how little I eat.
Now I know the treatment I was expecting does not take insurance and costs a min $6000 to $8000 be careful everyone out there if you need help do a better job than I did and that experience cost me $ 125 they wanted $250 I am on disability living alone , that is a lot of money to me to live a day of torture.
Feel good everyone as I continue my own living hell

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

I know you don't post often, but I hope you'll post when you are feeling better, and hope each day is getting better.
so sorry about that treatment center you went to not being the support you needed, I hope that you just weren't able to see the good bits like group therapy that was helpful or something as I had a friend who went to some of the best places and kicked in one of the most bear bone places for him it was about working the program but he was there for street drugs
your numbers have you seen a endocrinologist? they might know a good deal more than your normal run of the mill doctors I had one who was pretty good with numbers medications ect
head up your doing much better than you know but for those on this side its empowering to know that you can get off the pain meds, I hope your able to get your numbers in check soon
check in when you can

Mark there is a difference between detox and recovery. Detox is a medically monitored stopping of a drug. That is what you needed and is often done as inpatient in a hospital in a few days. What you went to sounds like a recovery inpatient program. Those are the 28 day programs to get someone off of drugs or alcohol. That is to stop an addiction.
I'm glad your doctor was able to finally help you with some support medications. That is what a hospital would have done for you.
hope you can get yourself some help somehow....hugs bill
I am so upset for you.
Many gentle hugs,
Joanne
Feel good all
I've been thinking a lot about detoxing from my pain meds because they just don't help me that much. I don't want to increase the doseage it's already alot. It does help but not enough. My tolerance level has increased. I'm afraid to go to a detox center I don't want to be red flagged as an addict. I'm dependant not an addict. I didn't want to take anything but I finally gave in 6 years ago.
I'm going to talk to my PM next visit. He's a great Dr. he's willing to help me detox safely or at the least ween me down so we can start over. Maybe then the pain meds will help me have a life again for a little while anyway.
Becareful, take care of yourself, ask for help if you need it. Go to the ER if things get to be to much to handle alone. Your in my prayers. I wish you the best. Keep us updated if you can, when you feel up to it.
I'm a good listener if you'd like to talk pm me and leave your number. I will call you and try to help.
Healing hugs
And I hate to be Debbie Downer..but...since your trying to detox...be careful with the Tramadol. Tramadol is one of the most addictive pain meds on the market and it is incredibly hard to detox off of. Tramadol while not technically a narcotic is chemically created to act like a narcotic and also has an added anti-depressant quality...so detoxing off of it is physically and psychologically very, very difficult.
I hope things look up for you soon.
Kat
I am sorry you are having such a hard time. No matter what we all suffer, some a lot some just a little, and we all have medical problems. I truly hope you find somewhere that can help you.Have you ever gone to a Salvation Army center, I do not know if they have facilities down there. I will pray you find a good facility that can help you with all your medical issues. Take care god bless isabee
maybe before you go with the nerve blocks and bigger things
you could take break till you get through your detox, as you would likely to be on top of your game location is important, how many shots are safe(there are different train of thoughts) and my big question without a DX how do they justify shots and in the future would it dampen the chance to get a DX and solve the puzzle?
I know you want pain control as so many here do, your not alone
there are many who have gone through this, there are also people still going through it
good luck on whatever path your choose
keep us posted
