Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

What amount were you given? I take 75-100mg. every night.

I took trazadone and it's side effect for me was, it stuffed up my head and I felt like I couldn't breath right. so I would jump up like you. I didn't relize this right off. Trazadone didn't help me much in the sleeping either.
I do hope you find something to help you without causing other problems
I have severe anxiety, so I take xanax to help me fall asleep. but it doesn't help very long. If you tend to wake up after your asleep.
When in pain that is a big problem staying asleep. Also I do not nap during the day, except on rare ocausions.
I hope you have a good day :) Rhonda
I take Ambien (zolipidem tartrate I believe), which is one of the very, very few medications to ever help me sleep. And with it I do sleep fine, finally. I would warn anyone though--your body gets used to it very quickly, so I quickly moved to a pretty high dose. If that worries you, you might want to tell your doc from the outset. Mine was good, and just told me what my cut-off would be.
Unfortunately I moved and haven't found a great doc yet, but I'd like to alternate sleep meds week by week if I find a doctor who agrees. I could be wrong of course, but my goal is not to stay on one med so long that I become dependent.
Long story short, bless Ambien, but keep a close eye on it.
Everyone reacts differently to meds and also it is always important to look at contradictions list.
Yes, I can have some bizarro dreams (especially if I sleep more than 8 hours). However, I didn't gain any weight like some others.
Be careful with Ambien!!!! That stuff can make people do really crazy, bizarre things.
Good luck to you!
