Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Hope this helps.
Just because one post goes in an unexpected way....don't let this stop being a support site.
Just a number of side issues that keep adding up. I'm sure eventually me and the docs will get a handle on them.
I don't usually think fatalistically....that's why I was caught off guard by my own thought this morning. I hadn't realised it was so in the back of my mind.
It's not that I'm u willing to talk about specifics, just some nutrition/weight problems and heart stuff......
Anyway, I appreciate your support so much.
I hope anyone else with the same feelings or concerns will feel free to talk about it.
For me i am out living everything i ever thought . every day is a gift that i never thought i would have.
jc i hope you start feeling better soon
Wishing you the best
Michael
Can appreciate you point of an illness scale.. and .... the "if I am here in the Spring", quite often I think of that.. I dont know where my illness will take me next... Had and have, some pretty serious issues going on with an autoimmune disease.. Vascular damage, Kidney damage, Pulmonary damage etc.
That's why I admire Kate's perceptive.. The Here and the Now... Thanks Kate... It something I focus on, I can't change the fact it happened and that it is still happening and I try to make the most of the Now...
Guess for me it comes back to the "acceptance" thing again...
JC, your not alone, always here if you need to talk..... it's healthy to task the mask off occasionally.....
I didn't know we had a "Suzie Sunshine Award"
he he....
Huge hugs....S
I have a lot to be great for. Today I just can't make the switch in my mind.
I encourage you to spend some time in the out of doors in really observing nature. Listen to the birds, get up close and look at flowers and leaves. Sit by a body of water for awhile it will help renew your spirit. This is the best treatment for depression I know.
Hugs, Cathy
That is an interesting idea about a scale to measure illness. I understand what you are saying because a lot of peoples pain is a back injury, or a knee, not related to an illness, but there are a lot of us with illness that cause our pain. I'm game for a scale!!
And jan if you ever want to talk about this I am more than happy to! You can message me or email me!
CP for the most part is not terminal we are going to have a long painful life and that is not a bad thing as at least we are going to go on for awhile as it is not like a terminal cancer or huntingtons disease or another disease like that.
For us pain is with us every day so that part is scary as if something is wrong we might miss it as we are used to it. The important part is to have a treatment plan in place and see a doctor regular so that if something else is going on we will know before to long.
i most certainly think about if ill make it to spring....but ive got 2 little kids depending on me..its hard on them.im in the hospital so much in the past 2 yrs that i have to assure them im not dying,,
for me,ive made recent changes in my thinking, being more positive about everything.looking at all my blessings, started a new group called "positive people"...listening to music now,as much as i can..something i had stopped doing...
the music...its helping so much i just cant put it into words..lots of old rock...a bit of upbeat music helps...try it!!!!
i think you are an amazing, strong woman..im glad to have you in my life!!!!!!!
hugs sweetie
amy
It is such a difficult journey to live with CP, I think we become super sensitive to issues thinking if only the docs had listened sooner.
I try to look at what I have learned and use that. Like with the pain clinic that wanted a ton of procedures. I had examples from the past of reactions showing that just mucking about might not be best for me.
