Wish me luck! Today is total hysterectomy day... It's about 1:30, gotta be at hospital at 5:30, surgery at 7:30. Then a 23 hour stay... I've slept maybe an hour, the nerves are getting me!

Pink, I had mine in 2002. I kept scheduling pap smears until the doctor told me "you don't have to have pap smears anymore!".

You had a major surgery. I have regrets about returning to work early. Please, please take every day of the 6 weeks necessary to heal properly. I was also thrust into instant surgical menopause. My doctor started me on Premarin the day after surgery. I continue to take it today. Hopefully you don't need it. Welcome to the sisterhood of menopause. It's awesome!

I'm glad for you to be home safely. The anesthesia made me sleepy for days. Hopefully you'll be feeling even better soon. Hugs and well wishes with prayers for you to get well soon, please take the time to get some good rest for as long as it takes, it takes time for the body to mend. Agreeing with RJR, if you have fever, probably a great idea to call your MD office.

Finally woke up today, hardly any pain... Still a tad but mostly just uncomfortable at the 3 laparoscopic incisions. The gas mostly feels gone, seem to of healed from the catheter... And as gross as this is once I finally had a bowel movement this morning it made a huge difference. I am only off for 2 weeks, but I have a desk job so thankfully I will be ok at work. I still have my ovaries for now, so no hormones. Much better recovery so far than my spinal cord stim surgery!!! (Mind that treatment failed). Thanks again for all the kind & caring words!!! Love you all. Hope everyone has a relatively pain free day :)

2 weeks?? Goodness they don't give you much time off. I'm glad your surgery went well, that's awesome!!!

I had mine out in 2006 and it was a nightmare. I'm glad your home and able to recuperate in your own bed.
