Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Thanks...I can't do the heating pad.
But the be and book sound good.
Maybe will lead to a nap and waking up with a different ou-look.
Thanks......hug.....jc..
last night, when i was tired and achy, i watched youtube videos. silly stuff - goose attacks, cute kittens...while leaning back on the heating pad.
Then spend the rest of the day watching some good old movies and not have a care in the world is what you should do today. You deserve a day off
For me, laying in bed being still only makes me concentrate on the pain more. Gotta keep moving till I can't no more, then I'm down and out and popping pills like candy! (not really...but would like to!)
dixie, i'm with you. if i'm not going to sleep, being in bed just brings my attention to each little pain. i do tend to walk in circles when i get up, so i get a few things done eventually or partially, then sit back here leaning against my heating pad. figure out my next circle...around and around she goes, where she stops we all know, boom.
I slept too long last night...5:30! My body doesn't do well in one position for what most would consider a real night's sleep. It's taken a long time, but I'm clean, dressed, a woodfire is started and I'm planning my strategy to make chili.
So far, I've dusted off the crockpot and put a cutting board on the shelf! Coffee break...
Don't think It was long....but I never read a word.....went right
To sleep.
Thanks, Tigg.
Thanks, the rest of you, too......Manny....wish you had a chance to follow your advice here.:-)
Now I need to move a little, too. !
Anyone else still roughin' it some today?
There are other aspects of the games that I find intriguing too. The characters or Avatars you play as can do all the things that in real life are difficult to do with CP. My Avatar has boundless energy, can run, jump, go kayaking, swimming, bowling, practically anything you can imagine. And it is all available to you on your TV screen. The only thing required of you is an easy chair and minimal dexterity in your hands. Then adventures await you in your frontroom. I think that Video games are a great tool for people with CP. It helps with boredom, provides some stimulation, exercisers your grey matter, fights depression, and can even provide some exercise.
One of my favorite game that is relaxing and simple to play is, Animal Crossing City Folk. It is a cute game that has a number of facets, but it is relaxing and entertaining. I play on a Wii gaming system that my son & daughter sent me. In fact, the game came from my daughter and was her favorite.
I meditate as well, and I find escaping into these games to be very similar to meditation. Hugs, Cathy
I used to love to read but find I can't focus anymore so I forget what's happening as fast as I read.... I just don't enjoy it anymore. I watch some TV shows on netflix and can really get absorbed in that too.
I'm not laughing.....someone else's experience here led me to tell hubby that she I get moving just a little more, I want a Wii.
Plan on starting on children's games, As I am about as adept on games as computer........thanks.
I also enjoy playing on-line gemes...backgammom, wheel of furtune....am looking for inter-active scrabble.......though my mind gets a little hazy for these sometimes.
Serenity,
